The library at Mundo de Arte do Tio Lino when we first arrived. We have donated over 1,000 materials to projects and schools throughout Brazil.  Below indicates how the materials have been used and what we have done
(As of April 8, 2011):

1.Presently we are supporting these projects/schools within favelas in Brazil:
 
         a.Solar de Los Meninos, Pavao, Rio de Janeiro (Grant recipient).
         b.Mundo de Arte de Tio Lino, Rocinha, Rio de Janeiro (Grant recipient).
         c.       Escola Moranguinhos, Rocinha, Rio de Janeiro (Grant recipient).
         d.       CIACAC, Lucas, Rio de Janeiro (Special Support/Grant recipient)

2.Our materials have helped schools establishing an authentic
         print-rich environments.

3.We have helped increased the use of hands-on/instructional materials in
          subjects such as math, literacy, social studies, literacy for over 250 children.

4.We have purchased fictional and non-fiction books that have help provide over
          400 students with access to new and contemporary literature.

5.We have collaborated with Hope’s Chest, Inc. to establish a library for a
          girl orphanage in Recife.

6.We have transformed libraries and increased access to contemporary and age
          appropriate literature.

7.        We have provided over 200 English language materials that have are being used
          to provide over 50 children with English classes.

8.We are providing materials and support for sustainability projects within
          Rocinha.

9.We have increased over 100 students’ participation in art and music projects.

10.      We have supported socialization activities by providing pre-school with
          needed materials.

11.       In total, we have participated in projects that have helped to serve enhance the
          lives of over 500 children.
